Earth Day

Last Saturday we participated in a Earth Day service project with the stake youth. We drove down to the shorline in San Leandro and picked up garbage. It was amazing how much garbage there was and how random it was... there was a lot of glass and papers, but there was also a couch cushion, a basketball, and baseball bat among other things.

Chance got into it by picking up whatever he could find, which was generally sticks and rocks, and throwing it in the garbage bag.

Chance also spent a fair amount of time watching the airplanes. We were right in the path of the planes flying into the Oakland airport, so they got pretty close, and he was loving it! Chance loves airplanes! No matter where we are at, inside or out, as soon as he hears an airplane, he perks up and starts with his airplane imitation. He will pretend his hand is a plane and fly it around while he makes the engine sounds. Everytime he saw a plane out there he would point to it and watch it until he couldn't see it anymore.

Just adventuring off in the grass that was taller than he was.

It was a great project and we were glad we could be a part of it.

Giants Game

A couple of Saturday's ago we went into the city for a Giant's game. We had a great time, even though we were roasting! I don't know if I have ever experienced such hot weather in San Francisco! It's usually cold and windy.
Here are some of the friends that we went with.
The last time Chance went to a game, he was still a baby and he hated it! The loud noises were too much for him and he cryed and screamed until he was too exhausted and finally fell asleep. Well, this time around he did much better! He actually seemed to enjoy himself! :) We get a kick out of watching him wear his sunglasses, for some reason he seems to prefer them when they are upside down!
"Go Giants"
I thought this picture was so cute.
It was nice to have friends there for Chance to play with, or something like that. Here he is actually trying to close the lid of the water, which wasn't working so well, since Katie wanted to drink out of it!
Unfortunately the Giant's lost by one in the 10th inning, but let's be honest, we weren't really there because we care at all if they win or lose, it was more for the experience!

We love to swim!

We have gone swimming several times over the past couple of months, and the reason why we love it so much is because our complex heats the pool! Sometimes the water is from 80 to 90 degrees, and it is wonderful! Unfortunately, however, Chance has decided he no longer enjoys being confined to sitting in his floating toy, so, if he's not playing on the steps, then he wants to be held. So, no more water aerobics for mom- though I do still try to work out my legs while holding Chance.
This particular picture was taken during the priesthood session of conference. A few girls came over with their kids and we had a little pool party. It was actually a pretty cold evening with a brisk wind, but since the water was 90 degrees, we were happy... until we had to get out! brrr!

Husband Tag

I got tagged by Stacy, so here goes;
Here is my Husband Tag:
What is his full name? Eric Gerald Johnson
How long have you been married? 3 1/2 years
How long did you date? We dated for 2 months and then were engaged for 2 months (though we did have a rocky back and forth dating period for 3 months prior)
Who eats more sweets? Probably Eric, though I also eat my fair share
Who said I love you first? I had asked Eric to not tell me he loved me because I wasn't ready to hear it. So, when I eventually felt ready for that step, I told him I loved him, and he said it back (he had been waiting a little while to tell me.)
How old is he? He will be 28 in June
Who is taller? Eric by 4.5 inches
Who is smarter? Tough question. Eric is pretty darn smart with numbers, computers, business, all that kind of stuff, but I'm smarter in other ways that I can't really think of at the moment. :) ha ha!
Who does the laundry? We both do.
Who pays the bills? Eric, thankfully he wants to do that stuff.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.
Who mows the lawn? Someday we'll have a lawn, and then I'm sure that Eric will mow it, or maybe Chance will be old enough by then. :)
Who drives? Eric, unless we are on a winding road and I am getting motion sickness, then I drive.
Who is more stubborn? We are both fairly stubborn
Who kissed who first? Eric kissed me first at his apartment at BYU, just after we finished watching a movie... I know, so romantic! ;)
Who asked who out? I asked Eric out first, it was long before we were ever really interested in each other back in the summer of 2001. We went to a demolition derby and fair.
Who has more siblings? Eric, he has 5, I have 4
Who wears the pants? I like Stacy's answer that their family pants have four legs and they are joined at the hip! I feel the same, because I really think that Eric and I work together in all that we do.

I tag: Lauren, Sarah, Julie AND Shaila!!! :) And anyone else that wants to play along. I think it's kind of fun to have this info. written down to look back on some day and share with our kids.

Eric lost 5 pounds!!

So, yesterday Eric had finally had enough and asked me to cut his hair. He's been growing it out for 4 months, just to try something new. But with time it seemed to be increasingly more difficult to style. He hasn't had this much hair on his head since he was a sophmore in highschool, and he just didn't know what to do with it! :) So, it was fun while it lasted... Short and crisp, here's the new do... what do you think, do you like it better long or short? Eric thinks he definitely looks better with short hair, but I'm not really sure what I think. I guess I like it either way, maybe because I like the guy under the hair! Ha ha! :)
